Om het personeel bij een ongeval te beschermen, werden de locomotieven van de 1100-serie achteraf uitgerust met stelen die vergelijkbaar waren met die van de 1700-serie. Het PIKO-model heeft scherp gegraveerde draaistelpanelen met realistische veerpakketreplica's en getrouwe replica's van de bufferbalken. De verlichting gebeurt door middel van leds. Cabineverlichting, machinekamerverlichting en rijrichtingafhankelijk voor- en achterlicht met PluX22-decoder digitaal schakelbaar. Het zware frame van gegoten zink en de motor met twee grote, nauwkeurig uitgebalanceerde vliegwielen zorgen voor uitstekende rijeigenschappen en hoge trekkrachten. Af fabriek is een PIKO SmartDecoder 4.1 met mfx-mogelijkheid geïnstalleerd en de locomotief is ook voorbereid op een eenvoudige ombouw met geluid en de grootst mogelijke luidspreker.
